In Alberta, we are fortunate to have an abundance of educational opportunities and school choice. Within that array of options, there are a multitude of independent schools (sometimes referred to as private schools), and each one of those is unique. We have different uniforms or dress codes, grade offerings, locations and facilities, focus areas and specialized programs, co-curricular offerings, strengths, priorities, histories, and more.
As we get closer to the last day of school, it’s safe to say that the anticipation of summer can outweigh the motivation to learn. However, it is possible for kids to be in summer vacation mode while keeping their young minds active and growing.
Calgary is known for its vibrant culture and breathtaking scenery. It is also a city filled with a rich educational landscape of opportunities that extend far beyond academic excellence.
You can expect your child will have challenges at some point in their schooling, and most will pass over time. If challenges persist, identifying the reason your child is struggling and working with your school to provide support are the first options to consider. For some children, however, a move to an alternative school setting may be the best solution.
