With the return of warm weather and green grass comes the return of playground season! Tired of playgrounds with the same boring equipment? This list will provide inspiration for unique playground adventures around the city.
1. South Glenmore Park Playground
South Glenmore – 90 Avenue & 24 Street SW
South Glenmore Park is truly a destination playground. This Variety Children’s Park was one of the first accessible playgrounds in the city and now includes a new inclusive playground and spray park. There is also a music garden a short distance from the main playground and a bike park on the other side of the park.
Even though the weather is a bit cooler, autumn can be a great time to be active in Calgary. Here is a list of ideas for outdoor family fun that you can do in the fall.
The weekend’s here, it’s a beautiful day, and the mountains are calling! Round up the crew and head out for a scenic loop drive through South Kananaskis and the Foothills.
This tour starts on the TransCanada Highway heading west from Calgary. You’ll leave the main highway, turning south, when you reach Highway 40 (approximately 45 minutes from west Calgary).
The fall season brings shorter days, cooler nights and new routines – but it also brings oversized sweaters, pumpkin spice and IG-worthy photo ops!
There’s something magical about seeing our city dotted with (or completely covered by) colorful leaves, in varying shades of red, orange and yellow. In fact, this might be our favorite season to experience as the Parks of Calgary team!
